Director of Business Development

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Business Development. Please read the position details below carefully, as only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further assessment of fit.

The Gist

The position has been created to include the responsibility of all aspects of Sales and Marketing activities for GBS' existing and upcoming product development. You will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and will receive direction and tasks from them. Annual sales targets are expected to be met or exceeded.

Your Position

  • You work to build more customers for our CompTracker system. Some sales prospects are in our existing CRM, which is taken over and managed by you.
  • You develop new ideas to bring customers in to the CompTracker community that are the best fit for our offerings. This may include phone calls, email campaigns, customizing marketing materials, or other strategies that you will implement to be effective.
  • You develop and deliver regular and relevant newsletters for our potential and existing customers. 
  • You manage any social media relating to the Business Development efforts and strategy.
  • You manage the implementation of new programs that are brought in, communicating best practices and directing the implementation tasks to the appropriate members of the team.
  • You attend industry conferences, national and international, that have been identified as the best opportunities for CompTracker to sponsor or present at.
  • You record/produce helpful videos as needed for business development or existing customer groups.
  • You come up with creative ways to assist potential customers in their budgeting and grant processes, including ongoing research for available grants.
  • You conduct surveys and ongoing research to ensure the happiness of our existing customers.
  • You communicate the needs of existing and potential customers to the rest of the team, and request the appropriate enhancements and features to meet their ever-evolving needs of the software according to our principles.

Who You Are

  • ​You have experience that proves your business development skills for a technical product.
  • You have extensive computer experience, with a capacity to visualize and utilize data models to your advantage.
  • You are proficient (advanced) in all Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • You are a self-starter, with a strong work ethic and capacity to self-teach & learn.
  • You are analytical, pay close attention to detail, and have a track record of strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • You will work from your home office, and must have the proven qualities to work within a remote team. (Including quiet and professional space to conduct online video meetings.)
  • If you have a reliable personal computer, it is considered an asset for this position.
  • You absolutely must have a fast and reliable internet connection.
  • You may join the team as a full-time contract or employment position.
  • You will receive training of CompTracker software and internal processes / policies if selected as the successful candidate.
